Bottle (33 cl) at Brussels airport. Clear copper, medium beige head. Nutty malt aroma, a bit flat, with some alcohol notes. Medium bodied, soft carbonation. Dry with a light bitterness.

Paris, Place de la Contrescarpe, Cafe Delmas: Nice light framboise nose. Red-orange color, little head leaving brussels laces, soft carbonation. Framboise taste, grapes that makes it bitter at the end. Also some malty tones tasteable. Fullmouth, pricks a little bit. Wonderful on this place after the Rue Mouffetard market in the warm sun.

Pourred a nice copper brew with a huge head that stayed on for a while (What a start!). Mix of spice is not present enough for my liking and would have expected better body from a belgian strong ale. Alcohol is well hidden. Overall, I wasn't impressed and I had better brew from Leffe. I had this from the bottle and wondered if it wouldn't better in a draught format.

Bottled. Amber, brownish colour with foaming head. Sweet and sour flavour. Rustic and sweet, toffee malt tang throughout. Kind of like Silks description of Tea flavour.

Pour is ruby amber with a dense at first tan head fading into a thin layer...smell is earth fruit and alcohol with a touch of yeast...taste is typical Belgian Strong...earth fruits specifically plums, a little overly sweet with a sticky alcohol finish...

33 cl bottle, bought in Denmark. ABV was 8.2%. Large thick head, clear reddish brown colour. Surprisingly weak aroma, but what there is, is pleasant: Ripe and dried fruits, just a faint hint of barnyard. Flavour has malts and spices and a great deal of alcoholic warmth.

Red-colored, and big head, lasts. Sweet and clear ind flavor. The one I drank was 3 month to old. Fine anyway.

It was not that great, I preferedd the Leffe Brune, but anyway, it was good, and the colour was great, it is like the Gouden Carolus.
