Spicy, winter fruit aroma albeit fairly subtle, restrained and alluring rather than overpowering. Malty, warm, soothing fruit, enjoyable but I’ve had better. | 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 10/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Jul 28, 2007 Aaah... I’ve waited for this bottle a couple of years now. It’s old, but not yet bb. The aroma promises well, with fruitful cherry-notes and some oakyness. This is dark brown, with a small white head. I’m drinking this from a real La Trappe (champagne-shaped) glass, and the foam looks intriguing, like a swamp actually. The first sip is good with its fizzyness. The alcohol warms in a good way. More woody flavours and less fruit. Long, full finish. My kind o’ play thingie. Cartoonkhaki (1150), Brantford, Ontario, Canada

Nice aroma; apples, raisins, rum, little spice. Smooth and soft palate. Tastes of less than the aroma makes you anticipate. Little spicy-bitter finish. bitter (1137), Henderson, Nevada, USA
