Amber/burgundy ale with average head retention. White and frothy head. A little malt in the nose, but overall very clean andreally low esters. Quite dry and reminds me more of the Gauloise Ambre, though not quite so dry.

Bottle from LCBO Leffe gift pack. Pours a clear amber with a thin off white foamy head. Average retention and beautiful lacing. Aroma is honey, cloves, yeast, sugar, sweet malt, spices, apples, cherries herbal hops and some alcohol. Flavor is a bit more fruity than expected with sweet cherries, apples, sweet malt, candy sugar, yeast herbal hops. Final is very warming with alcohol and a light touch of hops bitterness. A bit of cardboard in the aftertaste. Medium body with very fine bubbles.

Amber brown with off white head. Grassy nose with some nuttiness. Very rich and dark with nuts and molasses as primary flavors followed by a faint cherry note. Awesome!

Bottle 33 cl. Pours a clear amber with a big creamy head and a sweet smell of ripe fruits (citrus and peach) and syrup. The flavor is like a heavily sweet triple, ripe fruits, mainly citrus, coriander and yeast. But there are some non-tripley, like toffee, biscuits and coffee with sugar and cream. The finish is bitter, like roasted grains. Good

Beer No 11 on the Wilsons’ Road Trip 2005. Bottle from Sainsbury’s, Chester. Much better than I expected. Unusual reddish colour. Aroma includes smoke and wood, spice, dark fruit. Good mouthfeel. Nice vinous finish.

330ml bottle. Poured with a large foamy off white head, ruby copper in colour. Aroma of mouthwash, tasted a bit like mouthwash at the start but once I drank some more it started to taste better. Strong bitter aftertaste.
