May 4, 2004 Deep garnet, almost brown body. Beautiful head and lace. Aroma brings you yeast, caramel, fruit (cherries) and some hops too. A bit of alcohol warmth in the taste. Sweet but dry, a slightly bitter almond finish. Not quite as complex, thick or smooth as the élite belgians strong ales, but still a balanced and enjoyable brew. In Italy, this one could make the "Top 10 easily accessible beers".

Sep 7, 2009 Bottle. Pours a reddish amber with a beige head that quickly dissipates to a ring around the top. Aroma not that strong but nice; notes of toffee, honey and berries. These are also the main elements of the flavour with added brown sugar, cherries and a hint of alcohol. Medium bodied with a slick mouthfeel and a little sourness on the finish. More well rounded than I remembered and overall very nice.

Dec 27, 2007 Bottled @ Tortula, Sao PAulo, Brazil. A clear amber beer with a big beige head. Aroma is sweety, fruity and a bit flowery. Taste is sweety and malty, notes of caramel. Some vinous and bitterness in the end

It tastes smooth and rich.
Not as sweet and malty as I would have preferred it.

Feb 26, 2002 Sweet and sour taste, with a note of tropical fruits and spices, especially banana. Finishes off rather flat. Pretty well balanced, with no strong alcohol tang, though this is a fairly strong ale. A pleasant beer.
