(bottle) dark red-brown colour with a creamy off white head. Aroma is a well blended combination of cherry fruits and cramellish malts. Bittersweet flavour. Slight roastmalty taste with a smooth vinous touch and a lasting spicy (cinnamon) dry finish.

33cl bottle, purchased at a grocery store in Antwerp
Clear brownish-red color with a tan head. A little sweetness, some cherries and brown sugar and maple flavors. Simple tasting, one dimensional and uninspiring. Lacking the requisite spiciness and yeast (totally filtered). Passable.

Bottled. Clear, brown, with an off-white head. The aroma has tobacco, dried fruits, yeast, candisugar, caramel and spices. Sweet, malty flavor with dried fruits and alcohol. Medium body and a finish with alcohol, bitterness and dried fruits. The aroma promises a lot, but the flavor, body and finish don’t live up to it. (060812)

This pours a deep copper color with a tall, fizzy tan head. The aroma is delicate, light fruits and some malt sweetness. The hardy ABV is well-hidden, both in aroma and taste. It’s smooth to drink, a spicy cherry flavor with solid malts and some real yeasty fruitiness. Dry finish. Tasty and warming.

Bottle@Home. Malty aroma mixed with raisin and some caramel. Amber colour, beige irregular head, fair lace. Malty, sweet, fruity, light bitter, strong caramel, herbal. More bitter in the finish. Medium body.

Bottled. Amber/tawny colour. Rather odd candyfloss/bubblegum aromas when first poured but this settles down after standing for a few minutes and making way for wine/sherry notes with some volatile acidity. Sweet malt on the tongue but balanced by a sourish/bitter edge developing towards the finish. Surprisingly dry aftertaste. Not a bad beer - definitely the best of the Leffe family - but rather straightforward for a beer of this strength.

Bottle. Pours a dark amber color with a longlasting creamy off-white head. Sweet malty slightly yeasty caramel aroma. Also some hints of dark fruits. Sweet warming yeasty malty flavor with lots of bitterness. Hints of dark fruits and alcohol. Sweet warming malty finish with some bitterness.

Bottled. A mid brown coloured beer with a large off-white head and good lacing. The aroma is sweet and sugary with caramel fruits and yeasts. The taste is candy sugar and fruitiness. Typically Belgian without being mainstream like you would expect from a multinational beer. Nice malts and nice beer all round.
