This completed the end of my Leffe taste test with Loz’s parents, despite having had these beers hundreds of times before it was about time I rated them, only realised I hadn’t rated them when I went and rated the Leffe 9, so went out and bought the lot apart from the Tripel. After the Tripel this is my second favourite Leffe beer. Poured a reddy/brown colour, little bit of toffee on the nose, smooth and quite full flavoured beer, little bit spicey, also some toffee swilling around again, good tasty beer, still it’s not without its faults as there is a slight alcohol burn there. jhwarfield (123), USA

No great tastes of either hops or caramel, but a strong alcohol body that you can feel on your breath as if it had its own presence. Pinball (2886), Allerřd, Denmark

Reddish chestnut with a thick white head; rich aroma of candied fruit, alcohol and malt; nutty and caramel flavours, with a long fruity and slightly bitter finish; alcohol rather too obvious for my taste. mabel (2612), Toronto, Ontario, Canada

Clear, dark brown amber body with a medium-lasting foamy off-white head. Mildly toasted grains flavour has sweet boozy caramel hints. Medium body has a bit of an astringent tang. Not particularly assertive but drinkable and ’radiant’ enough to mark my latest milestone as well as end a superb tour of the country! I look forward to visiting la Belgique again some day...
