| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Aug 21, 2005 Pours out to a deep reddish color topped by a lingering, finely beaded head. Typical Belgian beer aroma of dark fruits and spice plus a bit of rose smell. The flavors arent quite as heavy as I expected, again the dark fruits and spices are there, but nothing really takes over the palate. A little bit of that horse-blanket flavor near the finish.
Smooth, creamy mouthfeel.
Alcohol content is apparent, not quite as well hidden as the top Belgians. Fin (3460), Merton, Oxfordshire, England
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Oct 15, 2006 Bottle picked up at Sainsburys, Kidlington 14-10-06. This completed the end of my Leffe taste test with Loz’s parents, despite having had these beers hundreds of times before it was about time I rated them, only realised I hadn’t rated them when I went and rated the Leffe 9, so went out and bought the lot apart from the Tripel. After the Tripel this is my second favourite Leffe beer. Poured a reddy/brown colour, little bit of toffee on the nose, smooth and quite full flavoured beer, little bit spicey, also some toffee swilling around again, good tasty beer, still it’s not without its faults as there is a slight alcohol burn there. jhwarfield (123), USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Apr 1, 2007 Bottle. London. Pours brown-red with white generous head that disipates quickly. No great tastes of either hops or caramel, but a strong alcohol body that you can feel on your breath as if it had its own presence. cab (863), Denmark
