| 1.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 3/10 | 2/5 | 7/20 | Oct 30, 2009 Dilute iced tea color, small amounts of coarse head. Aroma of lilies, light cigarette ash, light doughiness, cloviness. Very sweet, doughy flavor, lots of instant tea notes. Light bitterness doesn’t do nearly enough to offset the extreme sweetness. Boring and overbearingly sweet.

Aroma of vanilla, cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg, barley, and hops. Medium bodied with a slow, smooth finish. Decent. wetherel (1627), Encinitas, California, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Dec 5, 2009 On tap at PP Strong Ale Fest 2009. Some yeasty banana aroma that is quite strong, and not exactly enjoyable. I suspect higher alcohols may be part of it. Kind of reduces drinkability. fonefan (11640), VestJylland, Denmark

Body is medium, texture is oily - syrupy, carbonation is soft, finish feel is moderate alcoholic. [20090821]

| 2.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 8/20 | Nov 18, 2009 22 oz bottle. Pours a clear dark gold body with a one finger foamy white head. The nose is perfume-like and spicy with a bit of acetone and pale malt. Minimal yeast noticeable. Very sweet and heavy pale malt flavor with a little too much alcohol. This is quite a boring Triple. Too heavy, thick, and cloying with light fizzy carbonation. No yeast character at all to this beer. I want a softer, more yeasty Triple. This just didn’t do it for me. timfoolery (484), California, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Nov 14, 2009 Bottle from COOP in Davis. This Tripel was rather sweet, but I tend to like that. Don’t get me wrong, this isn’t quite the normal Belgian, but it’s a refreshing California Belgian. Good drinkable beer on a warm day. yemenmocha (363), Glendale, Arizona, USA
| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 4/10 | 4/5 | 10/20 | Oct 20, 2009 Pours a luminous golden color, translucent, with modest white head. Nose reminds me of a white wine with some light fruits, perhaps honey, but also alcohol & phenols. A lot of sweetness is present on the palate, again with fruit, and quite a bit of alcohol warmth on the finish. Not a great example of a tripel. yngwie (4970), Kristiansand, Norway
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Oct 19, 2009 Bottle, 65cl, shared by Papsoe. It’s a clear, golden beer, completely flat and without head. There’s alcohol, some spicyness, phenols and tropical fruits in the aroma. The flavor is a bit too much on the alcohol and phenolic side, with a nice addition of tropical fruits and some spices. Full-bodied, dry and sweetish. A bitter, sweet, spiced and very warm flavor finishes the whole thing. A decent one, but way too focused on alcohol. 090821
