Commercial Description:
This American Style Hefeweizen (pronounced He-fe-vite-zin) is unfiltered and naturally cloudy from the generous use of imported wheat malt. It has a refreshing, bready flavor and a distinct creamy, taste and texture. This lightly hopped beer is very enjoyable and easy to drink with a great wheat after taste.

On tap @ Eastlake location. I was a little skeptical about this hefe right from the start when I viewed a simple glowing orange easily visible through and no formation of head at all. My nose detected a light aroma of wheat or grain with not many other scents of aroma. The flavor was empty with no strong areas for me to point out. I guess this would make for a good session beer .

Draft; at Mission Valley location. Poured a hazy, yellow color with a medium sized white head. Arooma of hay, wheat and yeast. Not a great aroma nor characteristic of the style. Flavor was similar; more of an American wheat/wheat ale. If this is truly a hefe, it totally missed the mark.

On draft at Oggi’s Del Mar. Hefe is not my favorite - but I do like a good one... this is not a good one. I thought the aftertaste was oddly bitter.

Sample at the Santa Clarita location. Served with a lemon. This brew is a hazy dark yellow color with a thin bone white head that fizzes away quickly. Thin ring of lacing on the glass. The aroma is wheaty with touches of fruit and malt. Light-bodied with a sweet fruit and wheat character. Mild yeast is in the background. The finish is round and wheaty with a mild spice aftertaste. Barely average overall.

on tap-pours a dissipating white head and hazy yellow color. Aroma is musty wheat, cream, faint yeast. Taste is sweet musty wheat, cream, faint yeast, bready. Soft carbonation. Nice.
