Commercial Description:
Here at Left Coast Brewing Co. we pride ourselves on being one of the first breweries to pioneer a Double IPA style beer. In 2003, we brewed our first Double IPA, and haven’t looked back since. This hop monster uses Premium American 2- Row and a touch of light crystal malt to create a solid malt foundation. The recipe calls for hops to be used in every step of the brewing process; in the mash, in a hop back, in the fermenter, and in the bright tanks. We use hop extract, hop pellets and hop flowers, hence the name Hop Juice. Hop Juice spends more than 4 weeks dry hopping in the fermenter and the bright beer tank. It is approximately 9.4% abv and has massive IBUs. Hop usage is over 4lbs per barrel. Hopeheads, step up to the plate! Bottle @ ORL throwdown, courtesy of juiceisloose. Golden with a thin rim of white round the edge of the bottle. Huge citrus pine hops on the nose. Very sweet malts, more citrus hops, and quite bitter. This is almost cloying, just too sweet and monotone.

Big ups to Fordest for this one. Poured a clear deep orange with a decent off white head. This one features a caramel and sugary sweetness. Only negative is that I go for more hops and less sugary sweetness in my doubles but this was enjoyable either way.

Aggressive...thick, syrupy brew that generates a 1/2 inch eggshell head that quickly turns into a ring floating atop the brew. Golden brew with hints of crimson at its deepest depths. The aroma is pungent hops...citrus and honey. Tastes somewhat like you would expect...grapefruit, sweet malt, and resin. Everything is to the n’th degree...but misses the balance needed to take it to the next level.

Semi clear orange red amber with a nice ivory white head that doesn’t last too long. Flavor is creamy hops and warmth. Smell is some floral hops with some dough in there too. Not great. Flavor is a hint metallic and not super balanced. Just a touch more metal and alcohol than I wanted

Courtesy juiceisloose. Pours a hazy amber with a small white head. Very earthy, spicy hop aroma. Taste is spicy dry grapefruit hops, just delicious.

Courtesy juiceisloose. Pours a clear, dark orange color, with a small white head. Smells very citrusy sweet, with some potent hops and grapefruit to go along with the sweetness. The flavor is big on the hops as expected, with some nice malt charactersto balance it out a bit. Very profound hop bitterness in the finish, almost to the point where it was too much. Still pretty solid IIPA.

Throwdown. Rye bread aroma. Resiny hoppiness, pleasing bitterness. Copper color. Unusual IPA.

Pours a nice semi hazy amber with a lasting light beige head. Smell is fresh, but mild, slightly fruity and citrusy. Taste is a bit astringent and bitter with some citrusy hops too. Nice lasting bitterness and resiny flavor. Average to thin body for the style, but easy drinking. Pretty solid beer.
