Commercial Description:
Here at Left Coast Brewing Co. we pride ourselves on being one of the first breweries to pioneer a Double IPA style beer. In 2003, we brewed our first Double IPA, and haven’t looked back since. This hop monster uses Premium American 2- Row and a touch of light crystal malt to create a solid malt foundation. The recipe calls for hops to be used in every step of the brewing process; in the mash, in a hop back, in the fermenter, and in the bright tanks. We use hop extract, hop pellets and hop flowers, hence the name Hop Juice. Hop Juice spends more than 4 weeks dry hopping in the fermenter and the bright beer tank. It is approximately 9.4% abv and has massive IBUs. Hop usage is over 4lbs per barrel. Hopeheads, step up to the plate! Bottle all the way from San Diego to Sylva NC!!! thanks to j-tiki. Pours a golden beer with a big fluffy off white head. Aroma is pine hoppy citrus. Flavor is sweet piny, grapefruit and pure hops, body is thick but easy to drink. This taste like sucking on a hop. Crazy beer but good!

This one is IN-TENSE! Deep rich golden yellow color, with small head a little carbonation. The aroma is knock-you-down hoppy. It is awesome. Flavor on the other hand is a little over the top. It has a tangy sweetness that is too much for my liking. It has a thick mouthfeel that I joked was almost ’syrupy.’ It is definitely a unique beer. Worth a try, it really lives up to its name!

Bottle thanks to Snojerk321. Pours a slightly hazy liquid gold with a fluffy head. Nose is citric at first and then sweet. Some pine and passionfruit come through. It’s a bit cloying for my tastes, though finishes surprisingly dry. Decent.

Bottle. Pours with a fluffy bone head over a hazed golden orange body with awesome lacing and retention. Aroma of grapefruit, pine, and tons of citrus hops in between. Earthy and chewy caramel notes as well. Taste is pine and grapefruit peel bitterness and a nice caramel-alcohol back bone that melds the flavor for a bitterness focused hop bomb in the best possible sense of the name. Highish residual sugars for the style. Creamy carbonation and quite enjoyable!

Bomber. Pours hazy brass orange with good looking beige head. The aroma is bread, caramel, hop resin, some citrus, and some pine; a little maltier than I was expecting, but still good. The flavor is also an even bready maltiness with some caramel and peanut notes, then an increasing hop element with lemon, pine, grapefruit. Finish is bitter with grapefruit and a little bit of wood. Pretty tasty. We paired it with a lemon pie with oat crust and it seemed to work pretty well.

Pours from a bomber a nice golden amber with a nice creamy head. Aroma is caramel malt with a nice citrus hop blast. Flavor is much the same, quite malty up front with a nice citrus hop blast finishing off with a nice grapefruit hop bitterness.

Pours from bomber a beautiful golden apricot color with a full, creamy froth. Head retention is good and leaves a thick downy lacing. Aroma is both sweet caramelized malts and freshly picked citrus hops. Wow, I mean wow! The flavours start off sweet and chewy to almost sticky malt goodness before the hops enter with a smooth blend of grapefruit hop bitterness, hints of floral hops and pine hop bitterness. What A lovely beer, and the screen print on the bottle is awesome, hop cone with grapefruit innards. Cool!
