Commercial Description:
Here at Left Coast Brewing Co. we pride ourselves on being one of the first breweries to pioneer a Double IPA style beer. In 2003, we brewed our first Double IPA, and haven’t looked back since. This hop monster uses Premium American 2- Row and a touch of light crystal malt to create a solid malt foundation. The recipe calls for hops to be used in every step of the brewing process; in the mash, in a hop back, in the fermenter, and in the bright tanks. We use hop extract, hop pellets and hop flowers, hence the name Hop Juice. Hop Juice spends more than 4 weeks dry hopping in the fermenter and the bright beer tank. It is approximately 9.4% abv and has massive IBUs. Hop usage is over 4lbs per barrel. Hopeheads, step up to the plate! bottle from south bay poured a golden amber in color with a frothy off white head that has average lace. aroma has refreshing citrus hops, sweetness, light caramel, and a crisp wet grass. medium mouth feel with good carbonation. flavor has more bitterness, citrus, mellow caramel malt, sweetness, and some dry fruit. this is actually a well rounded beer, mellow for a 9.4%, but i don’t get the hop blast I had thought would be in here.

Enjoyed at tasting at the Castle of the Mad Drbayern, along with his Igor, Celticbrew, our beer Pimp Brian, and Uncle Steve. Poured a dark yellow, with a minimal head. I found the aroma citrusy and fruity and light. The flavor was nice and hoppy with a heavy floral overtone. Mouthfeel was good.

Bottle via Hophead22. Pours a nice slightly amber gold with medium white head. Aroma of floral and slightly citrus hops. Flavor is similar, but surprisingly not a lot of flavors. Just a solid DIPA. Mouthfeel is slightly slick with dry ending. Pretty good really.

This was the highlight of the LA Beer Fest for me. HUGE hoppy aroma smacks you in the face. My stomach was full of beer when I tried this one, and I was sad that I couldn’t do a better job at savoring it, but I was just too full. Loads of pine, grapefruit citrus, and oily mouthfeel. Can sense the alcohol in this one, it isn’t for the faint of heart. A bit too harsh of a dry bitterness in the finish, but I guess that is to be expected.

Bottled at Oliver Twist, Stockholm. Pours out in a clear amber colour with fluffy white foam. Crisp, dryish, fragrant and fresh hop aroma of lychee, grapefruit, wet grass, pine-needles and orange-peels. Nearly full-bodied with dryish hoppy notes of grass, resin, grapefruit and lemon-zest with undertones of nectarines and caramel. Long dryish and really bitter finish of grapefruit and grass.

Bottle at the Oggi’s Apple Valley location. This brew is a clear dark amber color with a medium thin off-white head that dissipates steadily. Rings of lacing on the glass. Aroma of grassy hops, pine and caramel malt. Medium body with a decent amount of piney hops character. Some sweet malt and citrus in the background too. The finish is hoppy with a grapefruit aftertaste. Solid from start to finish.

22oz bottle served in a Duvel tulip. Pours a brilliant amber topped by big sticky off-white head. Smells very yummy, lots of pine, citrus, papaya, and toffee fill my nostrils. Full resinous hop presence in the flavor. Notes of tangerine, pine, and mango. Very good stuff.
