Pours amber with a very small head, undercarbed. Aroma of citrus and spicy hop goodness. A little malt backbone also. Nice balanced flavor and palate.

Dec 25, 2009 hoppy aroma with licorice. Pours clear golden with thin white head. Eye-watering hops. Overall, this isn’t one of the better doubles that ive had. Alcohol is too prominent and the body is thin. Too unbalanced to get a high rating.

Dec 22, 2009 Nice, interesting aroma of caramel, peach, light fruit, pine, citrus, leaves, slight booze. The appearance is a hazy orange, white head. The flavor is caramel, fruit, pine needles, resin. Very nice. The mouthfeel is medium, little on the thick side, slick. The finish is pure hops, an astringent, lingering hop burn, mostly resin and some pine. This is a nice beer. Great IIPA, this one really takes th style to the limit.

Dec 21, 2009 A delicious IIPA courtesy of my Secret Santa. Aroma was spectacular. Strong citrus and piney hops that fill the nostrils. Pour was a cloudy orange with a thin off white ring for a head. Taste was nice and bitter. Strong bitter hops with a light caramel malt backbone. Very little carbonation which was disappointing but I’ve come to notice that west coast IPAs and IIPAs all have that in common. Nice bitter wet aftertaste that hangs on the tonsils. Very god

Dec 5, 2009 Golden with a small white head. Aroma is fruity with green grass and vegetable notes, some malt and a whiff of alcohol. Sweet malty flavour with toffee notes, some citrus hops and alcohol. If you wanna call it hop juice I prefer more hops and less sweet alcohol bomb

Dec 4, 2009 Bottle @ J.C.G. Pours unclear orange with a creamy lasting white head and lacings. Freshly hopped nose. Pine, orange and a bit of buiscuit. Smooth and sticky palate. Taste is very hoppy, spruce, juice and pine. Lasting bitterness. A bit boozy. Nice.

Nov 8, 2009 Nose is pleasant cereal, grainy malt with a touch of resin and fruity sweetness. Flavor is boozy citric sweetness and that’s about it. Tasted almost exactly like Southern Comfort.
Really let down, i had good hopes for this one - but the booze overpowered any good structure/flavors it may have had.

Oct 27, 2009 GABF 2009. Pours clear light yellow with a small, fizzy white head, mostly diminishing with fair lacing. Aroma is heavy malt (cookie, hay, straw, cereal), heavy hop (flowers, grass, pine, resin), average yeast (sweat) with notes of pear, peach, honey, and apricot. Medium bodied, alcoholic texture, average carbonation, and a bitter finish. Long duration, light sweetness, heavy acidity and bitterness.

Oct 6, 2009 Bomber from the original Foodery location in Philly. Pours a hazy bright orange under a dusky white head. Beautiful glow. Strong pine forest aroma with suggestions of grapefruit and white pepper. A lot of citrus in the flavor with some bittersweet chocolate, vanilla and a pretty beefy malt backbone. Rich and silky texture with a snappy finish. Only drawback was that the hop train occasionally tipped a bit off the rails but all in a good West Coast Double.
