Commercial Description:
A traditional London style beer, our Black Jack Porter highlights chocolate malt and Kent Goldings hops. Its slight initial sweetness quickly yields to the distinctive roastiness of the chocolate malt. The Kent Goldings hops perfectly balance the malt, making it very smooth, with a surprisingly clean finish.

Nice roasty aroma, with hints of coffee and chocolate lurking in the background. Pours a nice dark ruby red, with a tight cap of light tan head. Flavor is a bit sweeter then I generally prefer, but there are quite a few roasted notes coming through. Overall, I’d say this is a solid beer, and one someone who likes porters more then myself would probably be a big fan of.

I love porters, and this beer made me love’em even more. It had a black body, aroma had notes of dark chocolate, and had a mild coffee taste.

12oz bottle from Woodys in Franklin, TN. Pours a cloudy dark brown with a small white head. Not feelin the aroma...not much there and what is detectable is mollasses. Flavor is a kinda weird mollasses, finishing with burnt/bitterness. Medium mouthfeel...warming on the palate. Its alright...but dissapointing...more of a doppelbock then a porter...and im not a fan of doppelbocks.

Serving: 12 oz. bottle. Appearance: Deep cola color with a frothy, tan head. Very good head retention. Aroma: Light nose with notes of flint, earth, roasted malt, and nuts. Flavor: Latte, mild fruitiness, some coffee and roasted notes, and a nice bit of chocolate sweetness. Pretty tasty. Palate: Medium-low, soft carbonation with a medium-rich mouthfeel and a lingering, chalky, bitter finish. The finish is a bit of a detractant. Overall: Light nose, but good flavor. Decent mouthfeel, but off finish. This one is pretty good, but doesn’t quite hit on all cylinders.

Dark brown body with red tints. Small cream colored head. No lacing. Smell and taste were big on coffee flavors with toffee being predominant. Good beer but just a bit watered down.

Pours a dark brown with very slight hint of ruby and very little head. Mild milky coffee, treacle, nut flavour, but not as deep tasting or complex as hope for.

Dark in color, but surprisingly thin and bubbly. Flavor is a rather mild coffee with a bit of chocolate.
