Mar 3, 2009 Very dark red indeed with a huge beige head. Roasted malt and medicinal licorice aroma. Flavour is moderately roasty wiith minor chocolate and aniseed accents. I was left with a feeling of nothing great or distinctive about this one.

Mar 1, 2009 Pours a dark brown with a very thin tan head that quickly diminishes. Aroma is a bit nutty with some sweet caramel malt notes mixed in with chocolate, light coffee and dark roasted malt notes. Flavor begins with a sweet roasted malt taste with some hints of raisin, moves into a light, smooth chocolate middle and finishes slightly nutty but with lots of bitter roasted malt notes. The beer is pretty light but far from watery, the way a porter should be. Overall the roasted flavors meld very well and create a good beer to be enjoyed.

Feb 21, 2009 12 oz. bottle. Pours a clear brown color with a mostly lasting soft tan head. The aroma includes roasted malt, coffee, and chocolate. The flavor is roasted malt, dark chocolate, espresso, with a drier bitterness to the finish. Medium bodied, smooth, a decent readily available porter.

Feb 16, 2009 (35.5cl bottle) Clear, opaque colour with a beige and short foamy head. Slightly sweet and moderately roasted malty aroma with notes of chocolate, nuts and leather. Sweet and slightly bitter flavour with a tinge of acidity; light to medium bodied with a calm carbonation. Moderately roasted malty taste with milk chocolate, leading into a medium-dry and a bit slim, sweet and mildly bitter roasty finish. Just a tad too sweet for my liking (16.II.09).

Lovely coffee aroma. Some sourness, some grain, the flavour doesn’t quite deliver what the aroma promises. The sourness dominates a bit too much.
