Pours a dark brown, dark but clear, with very light brown medium head that laces a bit. Aromas are roasted maltiness, a touch of chocolate, coffee, and a touch of sweetness. Initial is light on the palate, but as you work your way into the brew, becomes stronger. Darker malt and roasted qualities work from light to medium in intensity, moving into a bitter chocolate and coffee body. Finish leaves a nice remembrance in the aftertaste. Light bodied, sessionable. milljam (584), Norman, Oklahoma, USA

Flavor is very good...solid roasted quality...good amounts of chocolate, toffee and coffee. Hops has a subtle presence. JaBier (1261), Capital City, Ohio, USA

| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jan 12, 2009 Dark brown with a amber undertone. Molasses, roasted malts, and dark chocolate aroma. Lighter body than I expected. A little hoppier than I expected also. Sweet tasting on the front end and a little hoppiness kick on the back end. A little hoppy for a Porter but not bad. This brew pours dark brown with a reddish tinge around the edges. Medium tan head that diminishes steadily. Top ring of lacing with spots underneath. Milk chocolate and roasted malt in the nose. Medium body with flavors of roasted malt, chocolate and mild hops. The finish is light roasted coffee and chocolate with a light hops aftertaste. Above average overall. arventresca (343), Greenville, North Carolina, USA
