Commercial Description:
A traditional London style beer, our Black Jack Porter highlights chocolate malt and Kent Goldings hops. Its slight initial sweetness quickly yields to the distinctive roastiness of the chocolate malt. The Kent Goldings hops perfectly balance the malt, making it very smooth, with a surprisingly clean finish.

Bottle. Clear dark red brown color with a average, frothy - creamy, good lacing, mostly lasting, beige head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, milk chocolate, nutty, moderate to light heavy hoppy. Flavor is moderate to light heavy sweet and moderate bitter with a average to long duration. Smooth and easy. Body is medium to light, texture is oily - creamy, carbonation is soft. (210108)

Bottled. Very dark brown coloured with a medium sized brown head. Malty and a bit roasted. Quite mild (bit boring). Notes of chocolate, caramel and hops.

12 oz bottle thanks to Suttree. Brown pour with decent off-white head. Aromas were some chocolate and roasted malts. Flavors were more burnt malt but rather thin. Just OK

A pretty good porter, but pales in comparison to the milk stout. Nothing overbearing and goes down smooth. Cool bottle.

Bottle. Pours a dark brown colour with a light brown head. Tons of dark chocolate on the nose! Also some fruity notes (blackcurrants) and roasted malts. Promising! The taste is dry with notes of bitter dark chocolate, salty liquorice and some soy sauce. The finish is a bit bitter. The aroma was superior to the taste IMO.

Pours dark brown with light brown head 1" thick. Mild aroma of burnt malts and chocolate. Medium body with lively carbonation. Starts sweet and finishes slightly bitter. Not bad.

(bottle thanks OSLO) Pours brown with an off-white head that fades fairly quickly. Aroma is chocolate, light coffee, and as the beer warmed, soy sauce was present as well. Taste was very chocolatey, with a light roasted malt finish that had some light bitterness. Decent mouthfeel.

[Bottle] Pours brown with a small light tan head. Aroma is chocolate, lightly toasted malt. Taste is quite sweet. Toasted malt is more present in the taste, especially towards the finish. A little thin, but finish is decent in length. Not bad.
