Commercial Description:
A traditional London style beer, our Black Jack Porter highlights chocolate malt and Kent Goldings hops. Its slight initial sweetness quickly yields to the distinctive roastiness of the chocolate malt. The Kent Goldings hops perfectly balance the malt, making it very smooth, with a surprisingly clean finish.

Bottle. Pours a dark brown colour with a light brown head. Tons of dark chocolate on the nose! Also some fruity notes (blackcurrants) and roasted malts. Promising! The taste is dry with notes of bitter dark chocolate, salty liquorice and some soy sauce. The finish is a bit bitter. The aroma was superior to the taste IMO.

Pours dark brown with light brown head 1" thick. Mild aroma of burnt malts and chocolate. Medium body with lively carbonation. Starts sweet and finishes slightly bitter. Not bad.

(bottle thanks OSLO) Pours brown with an off-white head that fades fairly quickly. Aroma is chocolate, light coffee, and as the beer warmed, soy sauce was present as well. Taste was very chocolatey, with a light roasted malt finish that had some light bitterness. Decent mouthfeel.

[Bottle] Pours brown with a small light tan head. Aroma is chocolate, lightly toasted malt. Taste is quite sweet. Toasted malt is more present in the taste, especially towards the finish. A little thin, but finish is decent in length. Not bad.

Good beer for a cold night. A sweet licorice smell as this one is poured. Nice tan head develops with just a modest bit of lacing. First taste has a sweet start with a small hop bite. Leaves a clean finish and a quite enjoyable beer.

Dark brown. Tan head. Roasted chocolate malt aroma. Description is quite accurate. The sweetness up front is like a sweet stout but quickly turns roasty. Nice, lightly bitter finish with the help of the hops. Medium/full body. Solid brew.

Mahogany color with a thin tan head. Nice chocolatey malt smell. Light to med body. Mild chocolate and roasted nut flavor. Finishes mildly bitter. Not offensive, but not very flavorful either. 8905

Bottle from Utobeer. Nose is matly, creamy with hints of roasted malts. Pours a very dark red beer with a small beige heading. Smooth, silky body with coffee, malt and sweet taste to follow. Some hops in the finish, quite nice and refreshing. Some carbonation and caramel are also detected.
