The only real downside to this one is...why would I drink this again when I could have MilkStout instead? That being said, this is a really good porter. Nice big aroma if roasted barley and chocolate malt. Pours just like it should, complete with a nice tannish head. Taste is smooth, slightly sweet. Hints of chocolate. Taste pretty good on the palate as well. Honestly, probably not an "excellent" porter as much as it is an "above-average" porter, but I was impressed nonetheless. I haven’t had anything from Left hand that I didn’t like as of yet. Hance07 (192), DownSouth, Georgia, USA

Some roasted malt and chocolate taste with a nice finish. Not the best porter but a nice beer none the less. raiderfost (158), virginia beach, Virginia, USA

Aroma abounds in chocolate covered fruits. Mouthfeel is creamy even if on the thin side. Taste is heavy on the chocolate. mild roasted malt that finishes clean, sweet, with a whisper of roast. mgumby10 (1858), Jupiter, Florida, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jan 14, 2008 Pours black with a smallish light tan head. Smells of mild roastiness, light chocolate, with some definite dark fruit character, figs, and nuts as well. The flavor has a good amount of syrupy malts, some roast, light bitterness, and even a touch of some hops in there too. This is a decent drinking porter. Maybe a touch too sweet, but not overly so. Decent. Mrthirstyneck (341), Minnesota, USA

The aroma is sourish, chocolate malt. Yummy. Rustic, charming, milk. Prunes.
Nice flavour. Sourishly maltbitter with ’sandy’ sweetness of prunes. Coffeelike & full-bodied yet easy to drink - dessert-beer.
