Commercial Description:
A traditional London style beer, our Black Jack Porter highlights chocolate malt and Kent Goldings hops. Its slight initial sweetness quickly yields to the distinctive roastiness of the chocolate malt. The Kent Goldings hops perfectly balance the malt, making it very smooth, with a surprisingly clean finish.

355ml bottle from Utobeer. Very dark ruby colour with lasting thin beige head. Once you get through the overly upfront American hop, the aroma offers decent choc with slight coffee, but mostly it is chocolate. Smooth in mouth, slightly grainy in mouthfeel towards the end with decent choc flavours. Spritzy on the finish. But why would you put a lot of lime and grapefruit on a choccy porter? No idea and frankly nor does this beer. Nothing wrong with it. Just not a pale ale nor a porter.

Pours a pretty standard dark brew, light shows some red. The head is creamy and light tan. The aroma is very nice, chocolate, sweet, caramel. Tastes similar, chocolate definitely, some alcohol, sweet roast, coffee. Nice smooth palate. OVerall a surprisingly nice porter.

Had this beer on 5/10/1999. Color is a deep dark brown with good carbonation and a light head. Aroma is a sweet roasted malt scent. Taste is smooth and sharp. It starts with a creamy feeling medium body as it goes down a lightly sharp dark roasted malt flavor comes on. The finish is this roasted flavor backed by a light hop bitterness. It’s a bit light for a Porter but is a very good roasted flavor brew.

Pours rich and dark with a nice head. Nose of chocolate and malt. On the palate there is chocolate and malt followed by hints of toasted caramel and coffee. Rich and smooth finish.

Smooth , dark and roasty, sweet lingering taste. Sweet; really sweet thick taste for a porter.

Dark color. Smell of malt, coco powder, hops and that malt powder you mix with ice cream(I think malto milk?). Taste of roasted coffee, caramel, hops, malt, coco, Whoppers candy and honey.

nice dark color on the pour with a 2 finger head that didn’t last long. smells like malts and chocolate. tasted thicker than your average porter with a definite taste of chocolate.
