Left Hand Black Jack Porter

Bottle. Pours a clear dark brown with ruby highlights and a two finger tan head that lasts leaving good lacing. Aroma of fresh malt, roasted malt, caramel, and a touch of smoke. Taste is fresh malt, roasted malt, light caramel, and lightly smokey. Medium full mouthfeel with a well balanced amount of bitterness. Very Good.

Bottle from BierKoning. Dark brown hue with tan head. Oaky, walnut flavour. A strong porter. Chocolate taste, milk to darker. Sweet and spicy. Really nice.

Smells like a porter...looks like a porter...taste more smokey than chocolatey...has a rougher texture than a typical porter...an average but palatable beer. I think this beer could almost pass as a smoke beer if I didn’t know it was already was a porter. Not a clean finish as described above...the aftertaste liiiiiiiiingers.

This was a very good porter, however very similar to the milk stout. Has a darker chocolate flavor though.

Poured deep brown, almost black, tan head. Aroma had some cola. Flavor was roasts, chocolate, raisins. Right amount of hops, finishes dry. Good.

Pour was the expected dark brown with some ruby highlights struggling to get through. The head was tan and one-finger tall. Some persistence to the head although it didn’t offer up any lacing. The aroma was fairly muted. Some roasted malt and sugary sweetness came through. The flavor was much better than expected. Roasted malt, chocolate, smoke and possibly some floral hops right there at the finish. A nice example of the style.

Bottle: Its got some chocolate taste this black Porter with his commen roasted malts.
