Commercial Description:
A traditional London style beer, our Black Jack Porter highlights chocolate malt and Kent Goldings hops. Its slight initial sweetness quickly yields to the distinctive roastiness of the chocolate malt. The Kent Goldings hops perfectly balance the malt, making it very smooth, with a surprisingly clean finish.

clear dark brown colour with a persistent beige foam which is leaving a nice lace; chocolate, raisin and plums; sweet with a good malt body; finishes a bit short, toasty and chocolatey with lighjt fruity notes

Acceptable aroma: roasty, coffee, a little sour. The appearance is dark brown/black, decent head. Flavor starts out sweet, then a noticable burnt roastiness. Finally, there is a wierd sourness to it. The finish lingers, but it has a strange sour milk quality. The mouthfeel is on the thick side. OK porter, not the best by any means.

Bottle. Light cream cheese aroma. Roasted malt aroma with coffee and cream cheese. Friendly, malty, almost full bodied porter.

Bottled. Bit standard aroma of black currant and hints of sweet coffee, but still nice. Very dark brown color, beige head, fair lace. Sweet, milk chocolate, malty, cream. Soft, light sandy finish. Highly drinkable, welll balanced, nice flavors. Underrated at ratebeer IMO.

Bottle Black pour with decent head. Flavor and aroma of chocolate malts and a bit of roasted malt. Good hop flavor tied in with the roast. Pretty good porter.

Bottled. Black coloured, brown head. Malts and liquorice in aroma. Initially sweet flavour, which becomes quite bitter towards the end. Quite thin mouthfeel. Not very impressed by this one.

Tap. Beer poured a dark black color, with dark brown head. Aroma was of roasted malts with chocolates. Taste and flavor was smooth, creamy, sweet with a generous helping of chocolates within and a hint of coffee.
