Jan 21, 2007 Pours a deep brown that is basically black unless you hold it up to the light. Half an inch of creamy tan foam. Okay head retention and lacing. Very mild roasted grain in the aroma, but not showing me much.
Starts with a mild sweet flavor - light chocolate, light maple, light roasted grain, and lightly hopped to balance. Behind this, there is yesterday’s coffee flavor. Though it is often a life-saver, I don’t much like yesterday’s coffee when I am drinking it as coffee, but I am okay with the taste when I experience it in a beer. It should not be the most memorable flavor, however this time it was.
Smooth enough and drinkable, gently carbonated.

Jan 18, 2007 Black colored, medium sized beige head. Rich aroma with sweet roastiness, chocolate, caramel and even some oaky vanilla in there. Medium bodied. Flavor is more hopped with sweet roastiness and caramel. Bittersweet aftertaste with some biting hops and berries. Creamy palate. Easy to drinki porter, still very enjoyable.

Jan 12, 2007 Very nice malt aroma, tobacco and sawdust but in a good way. Dark brown with a small white head. Very thick and foamy. Smoke and metal in the taste, but a good beer! Bit weak finish though.

Jan 11, 2007 (Bottled) Very dark brown color with a smallish, lasting head. Aroma of salty licorice, some aromatic hops and roasty malt. Dried-fruity, smooth-malty flavor with salty licorice hints. Medium to full-bodied, smooth-carbonated palate. A smooth and classy stout.
