Dec 7, 2006 Pours midnight brown w/ a medium sized semi creamy froth. Froth reduces at a moderate pace leaving a full dusty canopy w/ complete lacing. Aromas of roasted cocoa. A flavorful version w/ a perfect roast to fruity malt ratio. Bakers cocoa, leather, slight tobacco, and chocolate covered cherries. Finish is bittered nicely and hangs around for a while and barely reveals a sour tickle. Overall: I could drink this one all night. One tastey brew.

Nov 25, 2006 On tap at brewpub. Chocolate and roasted malt aroma....Creamy chocolate and coffee taste is decent...not the best porter, but not the worst either. Worth trying.

Nov 20, 2006 (Bottle) Pours a dark mahogany body with a moderate tan head. Aroma of roasted coffee, chocolate, and caramel. Flavor of roasted malt, coffee, licorice, and chocolate with a dry finish.

Very smooth, but with the sharp bitterness you want from a porter.

Nov 7, 2006 on tap-pours a light tan head and brown/red tint. Aroma is chocolate/coffee-dark malt, caramel. Taste is chocolate/coffee-dark malt, caramel, some bitterness. Slight acidic. Good carbonation. Occasional.

Nov 2, 2006 Updated: Jan 8, 2007Bottled at Oliver Twist, Stockholm. Transparently black, small head. Concentrated aroma of licorice and black currant. Dryish with clean, rounded mouthfeel. Crisp and very flavourful with notes of aniseed and plums. Finishes with medium bitterness. I really like the concentration of flavours in such a relatively light beer.

Nov 1, 2006 (Bottle) Pours clear dark red/brown. Light roasted, rusty aroma with chocolate. A bit milky. Honey sweetness. Salty liquorice hints with some saltwater/seafood. Good balance between the sweetness and the cocoa dryness in flavour. A bit peppery. Silky body. A dreambeer for those who likes beers that dosent stand out.

Oct 25, 2006 From a 12 oz. bottle with a bottled on date along the right side of label.
Poured a dark brown with a foamy, semi-creamy pale head that settled into a thin bubbly lacing, minimal amount of ringed, laced sticking.
Aromas of roasted chocolate malts, grainy and earthy with a subtle fruitiness.
Good carbonation and a malty crisp, dry, creamy medium bodied mouthfeel.
Tastes of roasted chocolate malty with light touches of caramel, an earthy hoppiness, a light sweet dark fruitiness and a dry grainy, malty finish.
Not a bad porter from Left Hand, nice drinkability on a cold, rainy midwestern fall night.
