| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Sep 9, 2009 Deep ruby brown pour with a tan head of large bubbles that quickly and quietly escape from sight leaving a thin film behind for prosperity. Dusty and dark aroma with chocolate and roasted coffee beans barely ground. Nice hop bite at first with a smoky hue across the tongue. I like this porter. I like it a lot. The aroma is lightly malty, and the flavour is fairly rich and malty with a lightly bitter finish. Overall a reasonable beer. cprochak (423), Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Aug 30, 2009 On tap at the brewery in Longmont on 7/16/09. Pours a dark brown with cream head, good lacing. A very mild nut and coffee aroma. However, it doesn’t come up short on the flavor. Great sweet roasted porter taste with a very smooth and pleasant chocolate finish. One of their best offerings. corby112 (773), philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Aug 28, 2009 Pours a dark chestnut brown color with dark amber edges and a 1 finger frothy beige head that slowly fades into a lasting ring. No lacing to speak of.
Weak chocolate malt aroma with a slight toasted malt and nut presence.
Light bodied and watered down up front with some oatmeal, smooth chocolate maltiness, toffee and slightly bitter subtle hop presence in the finish. brosen561 (21), Minnesota, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 16/20 | Aug 27, 2009 From 12 oz bottle. Pretty, dark brown-ruby beer with a thin beige head. Not the strongest aroma, but a good presence of chocolate and fruit on the nose. Full body with tastes of chocolate, decaf coffee, and molasses. Just a bit of hop bitterness also. Finishes with a slight, unexpected, but pleasant alcohol burn. Good porter. DJMonarch (6941), Northwich, Cheshire, England

Fruity aroma. Mid brown coloured and a little rich on the palate with some dryness and bitterness in a crisp slight roast finish. Allen (1425), Switzerland
| 2.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 2/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 10/20 | Aug 19, 2009 Bottled 355ml. Appearance: Clear dark ruby (lighter in color than Southern Tier Porter) with a smaller, quicker diminishing head. Not much lacework. Aroma: Nutty, lactic with hints boiled milk, mothballs, raisin, malt and caramel. Flavor and palate: Very low bitterness. Nutty. Lactic. A lot of boiled milk, caramel and marshmallows showing up. Sweet. Poor malt and hop profile. Medium bodied. Some mothballs sneaking in. Sweet malty finish which is reminiscent of marshmallows, walnuts and raisin. Overall impression: Sweet, malt accentuated, lactic with a very poor hop presence. Not pleasant at all and really dissapointing considering that I really love Left Hand Milk Stout. hughie (3081), Bedford, Bedfordshire, England
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Aug 19, 2009 Bottle from GBBF ’09. Dark brown. Sweet leathery aroma. Taste is sweet with coffee and liquorice. Some bitterness. I always believe a porter, unlike a stout, should be emminently chuggable. This fits the bill. Loved it.
