Commercial Description:
A traditional London style beer, our Black Jack Porter highlights chocolate malt and Kent Goldings hops. Its slight initial sweetness quickly yields to the distinctive roastiness of the chocolate malt. The Kent Goldings hops perfectly balance the malt, making it very smooth, with a surprisingly clean finish.

Just tried this at Old C’s. Very black porter. Heavy taste of coffee. Definately do not want to start with this beer, you won’t taste much afterwards. A little too strong for my liking but a decent porter.

Very smooth on the palate. Taste is quite pleasant. Slightly sweet at first followed by lots of roasted flavors, however, none are overpowering. Dry, clean, and slightly hoppy finish distinctive to a London style beer, it fit very well. Overall it was very balanced and easy to drink. I like this one a lot!

This porter pours black with minimal head. The aroma is of roasted malts and coffee. The taste follows, with a dry coffee flavor that doesn’t overwhelm. Nothing really sticks out in this porter, but it is very drinkable and balanced. "

Refreshing to try a porter patterned after an English style. Initially all I taste is dark fruits, follwed by some very lightly roasted coffee, malt and caramel. Has a bit of a heavy feel on the palate, sweet with just a hint of herbal hops.

Very dark pour, nearly black. I could taste a little but of coffee and chocolate flavor in there, some roastiness seemed to be present, but not overpowering by any means. My bottle seemed like it may have been slighlty watered down, but still good none the less.

Near black, off-white thin head, dissipates quickly, little lace. Aromas of dark fruit, brown sugar, anise, malt, coffee and cola. Flavors of cola, malt sugar, toffee, and raisinettes mingle with coffee malt, and bitter and herbal hops. Slightly thick palate. Sweet as porters go and not too carbonated. Reminded me of St. Peter’s Old Style Porter.

Aroma is very choclately, with light coffee, dark chocolate, bit of espresso. Body is black with a cream colored head. Taste is slightly watery, but nice and sweet with milk chocolate, black patent, and a very light hop accent.

Nice head, went away quickly. Very roasty and malty, good. Very very good. Like to get again.
