The only downside is a slight mild cheese aroma mixed with roasted malt. But otherwise this is a nice solid porter. jimmyh221 (157), Brooklyn Park, Minnesota, USA

| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Apr 7, 2006 12 oz bottle, via nolankowal. Pours a clear dark brown with a small light brown head that fades to a thin covering quickly. Standard Porter aroma, heavy on the chocolate malt with a nice roasted malt accent. Fairly dry with some coffee as well. Flavor follows aroma in step, chocolate and roast with moderate bitterness, a little burnt astringency, and a dry chalky finish. Medium bodied with a moderate fine bubbled carbonation. A decent Porter, certainly drinkable. illinismitty (1797), Nashville, Tennessee, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Apr 1, 2006 Bottle. Pours black with a nice tan head. Aroma of chocolate, creme, with some mustyness. Typical roasted malt and chocolate flavors. There is an unpleasant flavor in the finish that I can’t figure out. This tastes like something made from an extract homebrew kit. Not very exciting nolankowal (850), Columbus, Ohio, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Mar 31, 2006 Pours black with deep crimson along the edges an a small light tan head. The aroma is kind of awkward...both milk chocolate with some light moldy characteristics make the nose a bit uninviting...but nothing to terribly off putting. The flavor is nice, roasty...with flavors of liquorice, caramelized sugar, and coffee with chocolate dominating. Malty, almost a bit clumpy at times over the tounge witha light bittersweet toasty finish. Nice porter despite a few minor flaws. mddawso (89), Normal, Illinois, USA

| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 5/5 | 15/20 | Mar 26, 2006 Pours dark mahogany with a thin tan head. Aroma of roast coffee, chocolate, and alcohol. Taste is lightly roasty with notes of chocolate, caramal, and toffee. Mouthfeel is medium bodied and slightly oily with lush carbonation. Soft mouthfeel without being watery. A straightforward, perhaps simple porter, but also quite enjoyable.
