| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | May 8, 2009 Bottle. Pours very dark. No head, just a slight ring of foam around the edges. Has a definite chocolate aroma as well as chocolate. Creamy.
Good brew, but not mind blowing in any category. crazyvin (1254), New York, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | May 7, 2009 Bottle from my trip to Fla. Middle of the road but still a very nice porter. A opaque black body with a thin tan head. Aroma was heavy with roasted coffee notes and some chocolate notes. Flavor was similar although it was smooth and creamy. Finish was mildly dry. Bottle was chilled. noncaloric (622), Madison, Wisconsin, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | May 6, 2009 Dark brown pour, thin beige head, spots of lace. Roast malt aroma, mostly chocolate and cherries, some caramel and alcohol around the edges. Flavor begins with dark, fruity malts, slightly tart here, then the more chocolate-like elements finish it off. A little bit floral and fusel at the front, bittersweet at the back. Light to medium palate, moderate carbonation. Beerlando (2344), Orlando, Florida, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | May 4, 2009 Pours dark mahogany brown with a crimson translucency throughout. A small head of tan colored foam is quick to disappear, and sudsy lacing mostly rejoins the body. Notes of lactic cocoa and burnt caramel comprise the malt base, with hints of dark fruit, coffee beans, vanilla, and licorice all coming through on the nose. Flavors are a bit less compex, but still nice, focusing on cocoa, smoky molasses, caramel, and light, earthen hops. Medium bodied and lightly syrupy, the mouthfeel falls a little bit short. Nevertheless, its a pretty decent little porter. pivnizub (5069), Bochum, Porúří, Germany
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | May 4, 2009 Bottle: Deep ruby-amber coloured, huge lacy off-white head; burnt sugar, dark malt and roasted malt in the nose, mixed with some dried fruits; medium bodied, quite solid sweet-bitter flavour; increasing roasty aromas and bitterness in the sweet-bitter, slightly chocolatey finish. A fine Porter, even though a bit too much on the sweet side............
