Commercial Description:
A traditional London style beer, our Black Jack Porter highlights chocolate malt and Kent Goldings hops. Its slight initial sweetness quickly yields to the distinctive roastiness of the chocolate malt. The Kent Goldings hops perfectly balance the malt, making it very smooth, with a surprisingly clean finish.

Bottle: Deep ruby-amber coloured, huge lacy off-white head; burnt sugar, dark malt and roasted malt in the nose, mixed with some dried fruits; medium bodied, quite solid sweet-bitter flavour; increasing roasty aromas and bitterness in the sweet-bitter, slightly chocolatey finish. A fine Porter, even though a bit too much on the sweet side............

Courtesy of Nbutler11, thanks Nick! It is black with a red hue and a creamy head. The aroma has notes of roasted malt, chocolate and cocoa. The flavour has a light, smooth sweetness and it is slightly dry with notes of slightly hard roasted malt, hops/citrus, caramel, chocolate, light plum and the finish is slightly dry and slightly bitter. It is a charming little porter!

Bottle courtesy of sebletitje. Pours a muddy dark brown to almost black with a thin off-white head. Aroma is sweet and slightly roasted with notes of chocolate, caramel, nuts, some slight brown sugar, smoke, and ripe dark fruit. Flavor is sweet and chocolaty with notes of brown sugar, molasses, bakers chocolate, light coffee and toffee notes. Generally medium body with a pleasing chocolate and malt finish.

Bottle. Pours a clear dark brown with ruby highlights and a two finger tan head that lasts leaving good lacing. Aroma of fresh malt, roasted malt, caramel, and a touch of smoke. Taste is fresh malt, roasted malt, light caramel, and lightly smokey. Medium full mouthfeel with a well balanced amount of bitterness. Very Good

Tap at Prohibition Taproom. Pours a deep brown with amber notes and a medium creamy tan head that laced. Aroma of chocolate, caramel, nuts and toffee. Flavor of the same, lots of malty caramel and chocolate character. Not much in terms of hops, but there shouldn’t be for this style.

almost like a dark kwak, this has a lot of flavor in it but remains light. VERY caramelly and creamy. Smoky with a strong malt backbone. Bottled at Abraxas, Miami Beach,

A little thin for a porter. Not my favorite porter by far. Can’t place the taste.
