Commercial Description:
A traditional London style beer, our Black Jack Porter highlights chocolate malt and Kent Goldings hops. Its slight initial sweetness quickly yields to the distinctive roastiness of the chocolate malt. The Kent Goldings hops perfectly balance the malt, making it very smooth, with a surprisingly clean finish.

A little thin for a porter. Not my favorite porter by far. Can’t place the taste.

Pours black mahogany into a shaker. Off-white head quickly recedes to hug rim. Soy aromas. Sweet dark caramel upfront becoming cloying in the last soy finish. Doppelbock like...

(Bottle at Vihreä Haltiatar, Jyväskylä, on 2009-04-02) Almost black and clear. Medium sized and tan coloured head. Liquorice, chocolate and roastedness in aroma. Full bodied and dry palate with little carbonation. Malts, roastedness, bitterness, liquorice and hint of chocolate in taste. Bitterness and roastedness in aftertaste.

it pours a deep russet but sunlight penetrations reveals a rich, ruby red. A fair, beige foam rests atop. Milk chocolate and cocoa powder dominate the flavor but the aroma is faintly of cocoa powder. the body on this beer is a delight. Quite smooth and satisfying with an oiliness that just rolls off of the tongue. This is a very solid, enjoyable London porter.

Bought in a variety pack. Each one was good and well worth buying as a pack again. The porter was very black with roasted malt and chocolate, and grain with years like a dark slice of bread. There was an acidic hops flavor that balanced the sweetness very well.

On tap at Hop Devil Grill in Manhattan. Moderate chocolate aroma. Dark amber color with a medium off almond head. Sweet beginning that mellows in the finish. Mildly creamy palate.

Bottle, 5.8%. Roasted and fruity aroma with some salty liquorice. Almost black colour. Small light brown head. The flavour is a lot like the aroma, but also with some sweetness, which is quite good.

Dark brown pour with a thin tan head. Aroma of molasses, lactose, and toasted malt. Thin bodied. Chalky chocolate flavor followed by a bitter finish
