Commercial Description:
A traditional London style beer, our Black Jack Porter highlights chocolate malt and Kent Goldings hops. Its slight initial sweetness quickly yields to the distinctive roastiness of the chocolate malt. The Kent Goldings hops perfectly balance the malt, making it very smooth, with a surprisingly clean finish.

Pours dark brown with a thin tan head. Smells of dark chocolate, molasses, roasted malt, dark fruit, spice. Tastes bitter and roasty with some nice earthiness, chocolate, lightly spicy. Full bodied mouthfeel. Amazing beer.

Black with big, foamy beige head / Big, smokey, roasty, chocolate and tobacco nose / Medium to full body, rich roast malts, touch of sweetness, and with some creamy hops on the long finish / Flavors of nuts, bittersweet chocolate, roast coffee, tobacco, and licorice / Outstanding - would stand up to many stouts.

The aroma was filled with the smell of freshly brewed java. It poured with a medium head and a deep, dark body. The taste was pleasant, unique--almost a sweet, cola taste with hints of coffee.

Whenever I’ve been disapointed by other styles of beer I reach for a good Porter. This is certainly one Porter I would reach for again. Great color, rich chocolatey aroma, and smooth roasted taste.

Excellent. The look of the bottle didn’t give me the impression of this beer being so good. Malty, smooth, and beautiful to gaze upon. Especially in a drunken state.

Bottles at & from Microbar, Clapham. Dark ruby red in colour with a superb aroma - burnt sugar, red wine, caramel and dark fruits combine in a heady, perfumy dance. The flavour is likewise complex - liquorice, figs, pepper, smoke, caramel maltiness. Smooth as silk, the hops add a subtle fruit hint to the finish. Very good indeed.

Very nice - rich and slightly chocolatey. Nice very dark reddish tinged color. Whitish thin head. Nice lacing. Very good porter. Sweetish aroma - I can’t get enough of it.
