gabbama (104), Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA Apr 26, 2008 Nice calm aroma of chocolate that is not overwhelming. Flavor is a nice chocolate roasted malt. Finishes a little bitter, but smooth and ready for the next sip of chocolate goodness.
TheBeerMaster (100), Little Falls, New Jersey, USA Oct 12, 2008 Chocolatey in the best possible way. Sat down with a six of these and a bag of M&M’s and had myself a feast. DrDavid (361), Johnson, Vermont, USA Oct 12, 2008 (Bottle). Sweet chocolate malt aroma. Reddish black body, little or no head. Flavor is tootsie roll, medium sweet. Sweet chocolate malt finish. Tasty, but not overly impressive. Syd (741), Twin Cities Metro, Minnesota, USA Oct 11, 2008 Bottle pours really dark with red highlights and a large off white head that seems to cling well to the glass. The aroma is roasted and toasted malt and dark chocolate. The flavor is quite sweet, slightly roasted, chocolate, some slight ale sour notes, a slight lactic breath in the tailing finish. The palate is smooth but light. Overall, not bad. Oakes (6979), Miami Beach, Florida, USA Oct 4, 2008 Dark brown, slightly opaque colour. The aroma is very chocolatey, with some fudgey accents. Fairly soft body with milk chocolate notes and a light nuttiness. Sweet finish. Butters (425), Temporarily in Nashville, Tennessee, USA Oct 3, 2008 Reminded me a lot of their milk stout, but without the sweet, molassis flavors. Pours a clear dark brown with beige head. Aroma is roasty, and a little vegetal, but not offensive. Flavors of roast, bittersweet chocolate. Medium body was a little watery, but nice. Pretty good porter I suppose
