| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Jun 12, 2008 This beer pours a deep amber with a thin off white head. The aromas are musty and hoppy. the flavor is light caramel and some grass. This is kinda inbetween an IIPA and an american strong if you ask me. There is more hoppiness to this beer than a strong ale should have but I like that being a hophead. Cheers valpoaj (362), Valparaiso, Indiana, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jun 9, 2008 On tap at the Crescent Moon...moderate amber pour with a thin film for a head. Aroma is robust...very fruity and heavy with a lot of caramel malts in there. Flavor is very strong as well...not knowing what genre of beer this was, I would have guessed a barleywine. Lots of dark fruit, piney hops, caramel malts, and some licorice mixed in. Ending was somewhat bitter, and there was a strong alcohol warming afterwards as well...drank like it was higher than an 8.3%! Decent, but not memorable... ante (2948), Stockholm, Sweden

Grapefruity caramel aroma. Medium sweet with clean mouthfeel. Firm and solid maltiness. Concentrated flavour of grapefruity hops and licorice. Some caramelly malt flavour is found underneath. Long salty bitter finish. A solid beer beautifully lacquered with massive amount of hops, but not a whole lot of depth. Swalden28 (1510), McKinney, Texas, USA

Pours a cloudy deep amber with beige head, good retention. Aroma of sweet malt, dark fruit, light notes of hops. Flavor is much the same with a nice bitter and balanced alcohol spice. Palate is full-bodied, low-medium carbonation. Pretty good stuff. Svesse (2657), Hässelby, Sweden
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jun 2, 2008 (Draught at Oliver Twist, Stockholm) Dark brown, almost mahogany colour with brief off-white head. Malty nose with notes of chocolate, moccha, dark fruit, cherries, hazel nuts and hints of piney hops in the background. Malty, nutty taste with dark fruit, chocolate, coffee, hazel nuts, black-currant jam and deep down there are heavy notes of piney, citrussy hops (added early in the boil giving a distinct bitterness at the back of the mouth). Nice piney bitterness lingering in a warming finish. Complex, perfectly balanced and really lovely beer. TheEpeeist (1461), Swarthmore, Pennsylvania, USA

Nose is surprisingly subdued orange marmalade and cranberry. Body on the heavy side but not quite syrupy. Carb tingle. Taste is musty peach, kiwi, caramel and escarole. Buttery aftertaste with cucumber skin. Kinz (2207), Glen Allen, Virginia, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | May 31, 2008 Draft at Capital Ale House Innsbrook. Pours a deep amber, clear, lasting tan head. Aroma is a big shot of hops, floral, earthy, and notes of tropical fruits, yet not grapefruit. Also some caramel sweetness. Flavor is a dead on match to the nose, quite complex and flavorful. A beer you can either sip and contemplate or simply drink. Very enjoyable, pleasant surprise.
