Kinz (1902), Glen Allen, Virginia, USA May 31, 2008 Draft at Capital Ale House Innsbrook. Pours a deep amber, clear, lasting tan head. Aroma is a big shot of hops, floral, earthy, and notes of tropical fruits, yet not grapefruit. Also some caramel sweetness. Flavor is a dead on match to the nose, quite complex and flavorful. A beer you can either sip and contemplate or simply drink. Very enjoyable, pleasant surprise.
KimJohansen (3351), Copenhagen V, Denmark Sep 4, 2008 Clear amber with large beige head. Sweet with toasted malt, caramel and hoppy notes. Ends delicious bitter. ekstedt (1803), Göteborg, Sweden Sep 3, 2008 Bottle (75 cl) from Systembolaget. Beatiful chestnut colour with a yellow-beige fluffy head. Malty and nutty aroma with some spicy and piney hops. Very soft mouthfeel. Well balanced with a slight touch of alcohol. AndrewKScott (341), Lemont, Illinois, USA Aug 30, 2008 Hazy amber pour, with a creamy head. Aroma is caramel, toffee and a bit of spice in the aroma. Flavor is dried fruit, brown sugar, oak, vanilla. Very sweet but balanced by spice. Creamy, medium mouthfeel, with a bit of hop in the finish. Nice, though I’m not sure why they call this "the big mo’ series". That’s a bit disconcerting. BOLTZ7555 (463), Phoenix, Arizona, USA Aug 29, 2008 Maple syrup brown with a glimpse of red when held to the light. Beautiful tight eggshell head, 1/2 inch thick.
