Crafty07 (391), Florence, Kentucky, USA Dec 28, 2007 Does ’deep cover brown’ mean that it’s actually not brown at all? This watery thin, reddish ale was weak and very unpleasant. It abides by the commercial description as it is light bodied and slightly sweet but it is diluted and easily forgettable. chicagodri (1020), Chicago, Illinois, USA Dec 27, 2007 Pours a very thin and light brown. Thin head. Light aroma of molasses. Not much flavor to it, I thought it was a weak brown ale. ante (2904), Stockholm, Sweden Dec 3, 2007 Bottled. Clear dark brown colour with a low white foam. Clean aroma of toasted malts, nuts, grass and berries. Toasted malts, dark bread and berries in the clean flavour. Medium bitter finish of nuts and toasted malts. Uhum... obguthr (986), Poquoson, Virginia, USA Nov 30, 2007 Unambiguous molasses aroma with wheat bread underneath. Clear light brown, with a thin yellow head. Very, very grainy, of weak to medium strength. Grassy cilantro finish. It’s very drinkable with a low alcohol content, but it is fairly unremarkable. Low end ABA, IMHO. RiverHorse (454), New Jersey, USA Nov 17, 2007 Part of a beer of the month club. Pours a dark brown with a small, off white head into the pint glass. Scents of nuts, brown sugar and spice. Very doughy, biscuity and malty with a medium mouthfeel and nice finish. Middle of the road brown ale. LinusStick (1831), Moon Twp, suburb of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA Nov 2, 2007 A decent brown ale. Aroma was dark malt, toffee and nuts. Pour was a dark brown with a one finger tan head. Taste was nice. Burnt and roasted malt, caramel and nuts with decent carbonation and a nice chewy aftertaste. Miksu (2194), Jyväskylä, Finland Oct 30, 2007 12 oz bottle at Oliver Twist, Stockholm. Reddish brown color. Good sweetish aroma with lemon, honey and some chocolade. Honey, minerals and some chocolade malt in the flavor. Biscuity and chocolatey finish. Somewhat watery and disappointing flavor. Jonte (801), Gothenburg, Sweden Oct 28, 2007 Updated: Jan 14, 2008Bottle at Bishops Arms in Gothenburg.
Red/brown color with a beige head.
Malty aroma of caramel, syrup and nuts. The taste is also malty with notes of caramel, nuts, toffee and butter. Creamy but light body. Probably a good session beer.
