Commercial Description:
Deep Cover Brown Ale is brewed in the tradition of the brown ales commonly enjoyed in the U.K. Despite its reddish-brown color, it is light bodied and slightly sweet, making it a very drinkable and refreshing brew. Dark caramel malts lend this ale its rich color, while toasted and Munich malts provide just enough body to be truly enjoyable.

Bottle at Bishops Arms in Gothenburg. Red/brown color with a beige head. Malty aroma of caramel, syrup and nuts. The taste is also malty with notes of caramel, nuts, toffee and butter. Creamy but light body. Probably a good session beer.

Pours with ahead that goes away, but leaves pretty swanky lacing and all. Red/brown color. Slightly fruity aroma with a sort of metallic smell is that makes an ounce of sense. Taste is pretty good with definitely enough malts and a few hops. Easy to drink because of the not too heavy body.

This pours a clear chestnut body with a modest beige head. Plenty of lacing. It has a sweet worty aroma with a touch of chocolate. Medium-to-light bodied, it’s got a chocolate malt flavor with a mild nutty bitterness. Okay.

(Bottle, Oliver Twist, Stockholm) Dark reddish brown colour with brief, off-white head. Malty, grainy nose with notes of dried fruit, caramel and hints of rubber. Malty taste with dark fruit, wild berries, cherries, caramel and hints of rubbery hops in a short finish. Low bitterness, slightly sweetish. Ok, but fairly middle-of-the-road-ish.

Had this beer on 4/29/2003. Aroma is a full roasted malt scent. Color is a nice brown with very good carbonation and thick head. Taste is mellow and nutty. Starting with a medium body it goes down with a crisp feel. Finish is a creamy nut like malt flavor backed by a gentle bitterness. It may be a little mellow for a brown but I like it.

Bottle at Oliver Twist. Clear red/brown - offwhite head. Red berries, malty sweetness, plain, weak watery body & finish. Just plain boring.

Deep red color, not much head. Caramelly-toffeish malty aroma with light coffeish notes. Quite light brew. A bit malty, some toffeish notes.

Bottled. Deep amber colour, not much head. Aroma is caramel, earth, some roast and big time malts. Flavour is earth, caramel a lot of malts and some slight metallicness. Wellbalanced.
