Aroma of brown sugar, malt and treacle, dark copper, tiny tan head. Soft taste of malt, some butterscotch notes and woody too. Light bodied, sweet, bitter and drinkable. Good.

Aug 16, 2007 Everything about this other than the color seemed fleetingly fast to me. Yeah, sure its drinkable, but a ghost of what it cold be. The fact that my sampler pack of 12 had 6 sawtooth ales in it and two each of three other types kind of steamed my clams as well. Time to redo tyhe grain bill on this puppy.

Aug 14, 2007 Bottle. Pours a clear brown color with a longlasting off-white head. Malty slightly roasted caramel aroma. Sweetish malty roasted caramel flavor with some hoppy notes. Sweet malty finish with some hints of caramel.

Aug 11, 2007 (Bottle) Pours deep dark red. Aroma of caramel, nuts and chocolate. Also some dark bred. Light flavour of soft roasted malt, chocolate and nuts. Light caramelly. Round and soft mouthfeel but a bit too thin. Rather sweet. Light body.

Aug 4, 2007 Has a slightly sweet yeasty aroma, almost like Nestle’s chocolate milk. Nicely attractive. Very dark color but not black, clear brown. The flavor of this is quite unique, almost chocolaty in nature. That aroma is so fun! Tho it has a slight detectable bitterness, it is well controlled and it makes this brew easy to enjoy. Good level of carbonation. Much better than Dogfish Head Indian Brown Ale and about on par with Tröegs Rugged Trail Nut Brown Ale. Can’t hold a candle to my local East End Fat Gary. Overall, a very enjoyable brew.

Jul 20, 2007 It’s a nice, red mahogany colored beer with a creamy head. The aroma has notes of malt and a bit of dried fruits. The flavour also has notes of malt, slightly roasted, dried fruit and the overall impression isn’t very strong. 2392
