Very fizzy and not enough flavor. Disappointing. EithCubes (2139), Indiana, USA Jan 31, 2007 Bottle. Deep brown caramel with some toffee grit and nice dark chocolate and mocha overtones. Amber veering into copper with a creamy, fizzly tan head. Lightly bittersweet, light-bodied and kind of bland with a btitersweet aftertaste. Touch of sourness and a little more caramel. Nice, mild brown, but boring, kind of a disappointment from LH. jimhilt (1662), Bow, New Hampshire, USA Jan 18, 2007 Pours a two finger cream head that fades to a ring leaving some lace. Nice clear red/amber color. Good carbonation and light-medium bodied. Slight malty nose. Starts malty some cocoa nothing overwhelming, drying finish. Brewed Jul 27, 2005. $1.69 for a 12oz bottle from John’s Grocery Iowa City, IA. beerguy101 (3861), Newark, California, USA Jan 12, 2007 This brown ale pours a medium amber color from a 12oz bottle. Medium sized white foamy head. Aroma is slightly roasty malts and slightly sweet. A medium bodied brown ale. Malts are caramel and sweet, touch of nuts. Hops are floral and earthy. Kind of mild tasting and perhaps a touch sweet. Nice easy drinking brown ale. Wish it were a tad more nutty. Mouthfeel is full. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is slightly sweet. MrBendo (1039), Swedesboro, New Jersey, USA Jan 12, 2007 Updated: Jan 15, 2007Clear orange/copper with a large head. Good retention. Fair lacing. Aroma of roasty nuts and caramel, and some hops. Medium-light body. Fizzy. Thin texture. Too thin for the style. Slightly bitter at the end. kreepindeth (405), Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, USA Jan 7, 2007 I don’t understand the negative ratings. This is one of my favorite browns ever. Mouthfeel is creamy and sweet. Very nice biscuity, doughy, malt flavors as well.
