mephisto (1144), Taiwan Aug 26, 2006 a completely decent brown ale. brownish color with small head, the flavor is nutty and well balanced. rich for its alcohol content. Scubatrip (387), Winston-Salem, North Carolina, USA Aug 9, 2006 From the bottle, pours a semi-clear brownish amber without head. Really malty syrup-ey aroma, and not much else. Well this tastes awful. Like drinking liquid malt extract, with a little bit of bitterness at the end. It’s really like drinking some hopped malt extract cut with some water. This is one of my very few drainpours. Rballs01 (264), Mountain Lakes, New Jersey, USA Aug 7, 2006 Nothing going on here. Slight toasty-caramel favors are very brief on the palate. Then it turns into water. No complexity whatsoever. If you like a lighter style brown ale this is for you. jetzler (622), oklahoma city, Oklahoma, USA Aug 5, 2006 Bottle Cold Pint Glass. Served cold at Electro Lounge in OKC. Has a fairly light nose, but not in a proper glass either. Dark slighty cloudy color with a quickly dissipating white head. Taste was rich compared to the Macro Browns but nothing very big, easily drinkable though. Some amounts of malty grains but no hops to speak of. Fairly light palate and light carbonation, I think it had to much in the way of filler grains used in the mash. Not a bod beer, I would order it again if the selection was limited. An easy drinking brown ale. gws57 (1131), Saint Charles, Illinois, USA Aug 3, 2006 Bottled, thanks Slothgar! A good example of the style. Slightly cloudy dark copper pour with a thick white head, with lots of peanut, caramel, chocolate malts, hints of almond. Underrated Brown. Arnie (272), Chicagoland, IL, Illinois, USA Aug 2, 2006 Bottled (with thanks to Slothgar T!): Deep semi-opaque coppery-brown pour. Thick but quick dissipating head. Mild bitter flavor, but easy drinking. decaturstevo (1971), decatur, Tennessee, USA Jul 29, 2006 A brown/amber pour with an aroma of sweet roasted malt. A nice sweet malty flavor and just a slight hint of bitter. A nice smooth medium bodied palate. A beer I think I could drink many of, nice beer. jefcon (997), Arlington, Virginia, USA Jul 12, 2006 Pretty-looking brown in the glass with a nearly white half-inch of head. Aromas are brewery-ish, with a light malt. Kind of a thin palate, however, with a heavy, watery weight on the tongue. Sweet, like iced tea, with few thin nutty and caramel malts. Not enough substance to this brew.
