zer0crew (55), Duluth, Minnesota, USA Jul 24, 2009 Bottle. Pours a reddish-amber with almost no head, just a thin ring of foam. Aroma is malty and very sweet. Tastes pretty sweet and also very thin. A little watery. Kind of boring.
Bottom line: Not a fan. Wouldn’t buy again. ben4321 (952), Rockville, Maryland, USA Jul 21, 2009 Location: 12 oz bottle from Total Wine - Richmond, 7/21/09
Aroma: Caramel, roasted malt, nutty aroma
Appearance: Brown color, thin tan/light brown head
Flavor: Mostly malty, light hops, caramel malts really come out as it warms
Palate: Light to medium in body, OK mouthfeel
Overall Impression:
As a lefty I like the brewery name, I haven’t necessarily been blown away by most of the beers I’ve tried from them, but they have been solid. This one is a decent example of the brown style, but it just doesn’t blow you away. DJMonarch (5966), Northwich, Cheshire, England Jul 3, 2009 12 fl oz Bottle in Longmont, Colorado 10/10/2007
Some carbonation. Pale malt aroma. Amber coloured and hoppy with some dryness and bitterness in a fresh malt finish. bluemooner (229), Blaine, Minnesota, USA Jul 1, 2009 Pours a clear, medium brown with hints of red with a thin tan head. Aroma is nutty and roasty with some caramel malts. Tastes of caramel and roasted malts, vanilla, chocolate, toffee, and a bit nutty with a light hoppy finish. Not bad. BVery (446), Burnsville, Minnesota, USA Jun 29, 2009 BOTTLE: reddish-brown pour, aroma of caramel, malt, and nuts. Thin body, but smooth, taste of caramel and light roast. bboeckl (133), Grafton, Wisconsin, USA Jun 27, 2009 Deep Dark Roasted grains meet thick layers of caramel, malt and vanilla. Hop bitterness is the backdrop. Thin mouthfeel makes this beer more ordinary but I still believe this Brown Ale is underrated on this site. badwhale (51), Bitterville, Pennsylvania, USA Jun 22, 2009 Spare head, and spare lacing. Hazy appearance. Heavy malt & light hops flavors. Light body, and thin texture. WakeandBake (422), Greenville, Michigan, USA May 30, 2009 Updated: May 31, 2009Bottle.
