theisti (1638), Leawood, Kansas, USA Feb 23, 2009 12 oz bottle from a Winter Beer 10 Pack purchased at World Market for me by my wife. Pour is clear golden brown with a full one inch off white head. Decent amount of carbonation visible. Aroma of hazel nut semi-sweet maltiness, touch of dusty cardboard present. Taste is the nutty malt of the nose plus throat lozenge cherry sweetness. Sweet was quite disjointed from the nuttiness. Finish is quick and crisp. Palate is thin-medium, clean and nicely drinkable. Decent enough brown. webbcreative (111), , Oklahoma, USA Feb 11, 2009 Pours a brown color, sort of a dark nut brown.
Smell is light but pretty good. I get a little hops, some sweetness.
Taste is really really good. get some caramel, a bit nutty, malts, get some light hops. A really smooth beer, and has a nice creamy mouthfeel.
I really am enjoying this one, one of the best brown ales i have had so far dwaggs2 (530), Lee’s Summit, Missouri, USA Feb 11, 2009 Bottle. Right down the middle. An average beer. Pours a lite brown color. OK head. Aroma is caramel. Taste is watery but decent. patrick767 (2016), fort wayne, Indiana, USA Feb 4, 2009 bottle - Pours medium brown with a thin head. It has a light caramel malt aroma. The flavor is of course caramel malt and has a little nuttiness to it and a touch of hops. It’s light and rather bland. While it’s drinkable and doesn’t taste bad, I find myself utterly underwhelmed. VitaminR (421), Colorado, USA Jan 31, 2009 Browned bourbon caramel sauce nose. Brown color with hints of amber, foamy medium head. Soft chocolate and mild roasted sweet caramel with minimal bitter notes. medium carbonation and body, finish is malty sweet. Nice easy drinking brown ale packed with flavors. blindeyedbetty (148), Arlington, Virginia, USA Jan 31, 2009 12 oz. bottle pours a watered-down coca cola brown with sparse creamy head which disappears very quickly. Aroma is of sweet malt. Mildly carbonated. Front palate is sweet and somewhat reminiscent of molasses. Middle is of roasted malts with a light, faintly spicy caramel finish.
