Commercial Description:
Deep Cover Brown Ale is brewed in the tradition of the brown ales commonly enjoyed in the U.K. Despite its reddish-brown color, it is light bodied and slightly sweet, making it a very drinkable and refreshing brew. Dark caramel malts lend this ale its rich color, while toasted and Munich malts provide just enough body to be truly enjoyable.

This beer smells of chocolate and malt, nice color, small amount of head. Overall the beer was full of flavor, yet no distiinct flavors came through.

12oz bottle from Party Pak Liquors (Indianapolis, IN). Pours a clear dark reddish brown with thin off-white head. Little head retention or lacing. Aroma is sweet and malty with notes of raisins, ripe fruit, some chocolate, some spice. Flavor is similar with more prominent chocolate notes, some sweet malt, toffee, caramel and maybe hints of coffee. Generally medium body with a sweet and malty finish.

Nut, roast, and chocolate aroma. Brown, clear, with off-white head. Roast, malt, caramel, and and hop bitter notes. Balanced, with dry bitter finish.

Bottle here in Colorado. Pours a dark brown color and develops a thin head with minimal retention. Rather hoppy and not too many noticeable other flavors. I didn’t care much for the taste.

Brown ale rating #100. Woohoo for numbers! Bottle. Filtered, clear medium dark caramel brown. Big dusty caramel syrup and maple cracker malt nose, dry and parched. Fresh, chewy, vibrant presence on the palate, but develops a sour, vegetal twang over the middle, turns into a strange minty toothpaste pastiness in the back. Smells decent enough, but tastes suspect.

12 oz bottle. slight cinnamon flavor. Drinkable. Not as flavorful as my last brown ale, Corsendonk, but nice on it’s own.
