| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 2/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 13/20 | Apr 30, 2007 Pours a thin brown with a medium light tan frothy head. Aroma is superficial, sweet, corn. Taste is thin, sort of bland, tastes like brown beer, just cheap brown beer, slight sweetness, macro feel, acidic/metallic taste. Cold thin mouthfeel. Not really good. Refreshing I guess and a low abv for session type drinking. Beerdedone (1885), Croydon, Pennsylvania, USA

Malty, chocolate and raisin aroma with a touch of woody dryness. | 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jun 16, 2007 Bottled on 04-23-07. Clear, dark brown-red with small head that tries to last. Mild aroma is sweet roasted walnut and sourish fruit. Flavor is also mild: some slightly sweet and nutty malt, faint sour cherries, and a drying earthy yeast. Palate is slightly watery, acidic-tingly, and has a chalky-dry finish. I guess it is in the UK style, but I favor the browns that have stepped outside of that tradition. Somewhat stale aroma, full of cardboard (but not oxidation,) and light malt (caramel, fruit, dough, burnt popcorn.) Flavor is light bodied, slightly sweet, full of notes of berries, toasted bread and caramel. An above average brown ale. LinusStick (1848), Moon Twp, suburb of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA
