| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jun 16, 2007 Bottled on 04-23-07. Clear, dark brown-red with small head that tries to last. Mild aroma is sweet roasted walnut and sourish fruit. Flavor is also mild: some slightly sweet and nutty malt, faint sour cherries, and a drying earthy yeast. Palate is slightly watery, acidic-tingly, and has a chalky-dry finish. I guess it is in the UK style, but I favor the browns that have stepped outside of that tradition. oldrtybastrd (1801), Morlautern, Germany/Great Falls, Montana, USA

| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Dec 30, 2003 Appealing to the eye with a dark amber, almost walnut color and an off-white head. Did not distinguish anything in the aroma. Perhaps the old nose wasn't working well. Flavor was slightly effervescent but decent. Palidor19 (1773), Brandon, Florida, USA
| 2.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 9/20 | Dec 18, 2008 weak, smells like bad tap water, malts a touch weak but it has a touch of coffee after-taste. not much else. JCB (1765), Durham, North Carolina, USA
| 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Jan 29, 2008 Pretty decent brown ale, seems to be going for a hybrid of the slightly hopped American style and a more traditional English version. Very faint aroma, with some caramel detectable. Trace of nutty flavors and a slight sharp hop presence in the brew. But overall it’s pretty anonymous. Murphy (1759), Fort Collins, Colorado, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Mar 26, 2005 Clear copper, light head. Toasty malt aroma. Taste is dark, nutty, with molassis hints. Mouthfeel a little thin, bitter nutty finish. Suprisingly good for a brown ale. sneagrams3 (1756), St. Louis, Missouri, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Sep 13, 2005 12z bottle. Deep amber hue with a tan head that quickly dissipated. Light roasted malts and slight caramel aroma. Smooth and creamy in the mouth with a chocolate cake note. "It is light bodied and slightly sweet", this is too true. But, at least they don’t claim it to be something it’s not! I think that, for what it is, it’ll do on a hot STL summer day when you need something with a lil more malt kick. | 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Nov 16, 2002 This beer was one of the 12 beers featured in a beer tasting event I hosted back in April. The avg. rating among the 10 participants was 7.1 out of 10 (my rating was a 7 out of 10). Not having started rating beers using the ratebeer method and scale at that point, I just had another opportunity to do so. Heavy malt and moderate hop aroma. Avg. sized, creamy, off-white head which mostly diminishes. Murky, reddish-brown body. Flavor is heavy malt in the initial moutfeel with moderate bitter notes becoming apparent as it warms. Long in duration, medium to full bodied. Very tasty.
