Jul 20, 2007 It’s a nice, red mahogany colored beer with a creamy head. The aroma has notes of malt and a bit of dried fruits. The flavour also has notes of malt, slightly roasted, dried fruit and the overall impression isn’t very strong. 2392

Apr 16, 2005 Bottled on date of 12/9/03. Poured a medium, cloudy brown color with a small off white head. Aromas of nuts and caramel. Tastes of nuts, caramel, and lightly fruity. Malty sweet. Smooth body.

May 13, 2006 Bottle... Clear, amber ale with orange highlights and a small, creamy, off-white head. Good retention. Nutty, malty aroma with lots of milk chocolate and caramel. Lighter notes of butterscotch and red wine. Well-balanced, nutty, chocolatey flavor. Thin, but lightly creamy with fizzy carbonation. Finishes chocolatey and watery.

Aug 31, 2003 Medium copper color with a thin off-white lacey head. Light nutty aroma. Body is thin, lightly sweet with some caramel malt flavor and a hint of chocolate. Dry nutty finish. Smooth, but boring and not as thick as I like a brown ale.

Nov 7, 2006 on tap-pours an off white head with copper/amber color. Aroma is sweet medium malt. Taste is upfront nutty. Sweet medium malt-caramel, secondary hops bite. OK carbonation.

Sep 20, 2008 Updated: Sep 23, 2008Brown ale rating #100. Woohoo for numbers! Bottle. Filtered, clear medium dark caramel brown. Big dusty caramel syrup and maple cracker malt nose, dry and parched. Fresh, chewy, vibrant presence on the palate, but develops a sour, vegetal twang over the middle, turns into a strange minty toothpaste pastiness in the back. Smells decent enough, but tastes suspect.

Oct 16, 2007 This pours a clear chestnut body with a modest beige head. Plenty of lacing. It has a sweet worty aroma with a touch of chocolate. Mar 25, 2004 Bright chestnut color with a smaller beige head. Malt and nuts aroma. Flavors start out somewhat sweet with a later nuttiness, a it like caramels with dry roasted panuts. Light hopsack finish with quite a bit of acidity.
