Commercial Description:
Deep Cover Brown Ale is brewed in the tradition of the brown ales commonly enjoyed in the U.K. Despite its reddish-brown color, it is light bodied and slightly sweet, making it a very drinkable and refreshing brew. Dark caramel malts lend this ale its rich color, while toasted and Munich malts provide just enough body to be truly enjoyable.

Clear orange/copper with a large head. Good retention. Fair lacing. Aroma of roasty nuts and caramel, and some hops. Medium-light body. Fizzy. Thin texture. Too thin for the style. Slightly bitter at the end.

Location: 12 oz bottle from Total Wine - Richmond, 7/21/09

Aroma: Caramel, roasted malt, nutty aroma
Appearance: Brown color, thin tan/light brown head
Flavor: Mostly malty, light hops, caramel malts really come out as it warms
Palate: Light to medium in body, OK mouthfeel
Overall Impression: As a lefty I like the brewery name, I haven’t necessarily been blown away by most of the beers I’ve tried from them, but they have been solid. This one is a decent example of the brown style, but it just doesn’t blow you away.

A pretty average Brown Ale. Bottle at the Beer Sellar in Knoxville. Deep brown/mahogany color with an off-white head. Nutty aroma with a hint of caramel. Bland flavor. I'm not a fan of Browns anyway.

Pours a copper color with an off-white head. Aroma is of toasted malts, caramel, and some spices. Flavor is huge or the toasted malts and caramel. Not much of a lingering flavor. Not my favorite from Left Hand. It’s decent and would probably be a good beer to have on a warm, summer day.

Fairly fruity aroma with little in the way of caramel. Amber in appearance with a nice white head. Funky fruity yeast combines with slight caramel apples and light toffee. incredibly boring.

Pretty-looking brown in the glass with a nearly white half-inch of head. Aromas are brewery-ish, with a light malt. Kind of a thin palate, however, with a heavy, watery weight on the tongue. Sweet, like iced tea, with few thin nutty and caramel malts. Not enough substance to this brew.

Pours a watery brown color with a tan head. Smells of honey, cardboard, dark pit fruit, and chocolate. Thin bodied (of course). Not bad for the style, shows caramel, nuts and chocolate on the palate. Decent, enjoyable beer.

pretty average brown. Gets points for being a full bodied dark brown, with a heavy flavor and noticable aroma. But pretty standard everywhere else
