Commercial Description:
Deep Cover Brown Ale is brewed in the tradition of the brown ales commonly enjoyed in the U.K. Despite its reddish-brown color, it is light bodied and slightly sweet, making it a very drinkable and refreshing brew. Dark caramel malts lend this ale its rich color, while toasted and Munich malts provide just enough body to be truly enjoyable.

Pours a hazy reddish amber with a thin, tan head that has little retention and no lacing. Aroma is sugary, malty, strawberry like a doppelbock. There is some strange wet dog/barn house/mustiness in there too. Taste is very weak: mostly seltzer water. Disappointing.

Very malty and smooth. Lots of carmel and smokey flavors. Roasted nut and toffee notes. Smooth but seems a bit watered down.

12oz bottle. Pours a mostly clear, amber-orange colored body with a finger-width, frothy, tan head that dissipates quickly and leaves a moderate lacing. Aroma is sweeter, hazelnut malts. A light cherry and some other fruits as well, but pretty weak overall. Flavor is slightly thin and watery up front. Nutty malts and a light cherry fruit mixture before this actually finishes with some flavor. Light, earthy bitterness and a toasty toffee make the finish somewhat enjoyable. Fairly dry with a medium length aftertaste. Overall, despite the enjoyable backend of this beer, there’s too much inconsistency throughout. Weak, nutty and malty aroma with a mostly thin, watery flavor. Eh...

Bottle from Sun Devil. Pours like date juice with a trim off-white head. Smells and tastes predominantly of raspberry tea, brown sugar, hops, and faint cream. Fair, if not strange.

Bottle. Can you say thin? This beer has a very thin body which has a rather negative impact. There are subtle aromas of nuttyness and caramel going on, the same holdsfor the flavors. However the non-existent body makes it more reminiscent of water. This beer cannot hold a candle to Moose Drool or Lost Coast Downtown Brow, a thorough disappointment.

bottle from BOM club. pours a light brown with a 1/4 " white head which dissipates to a thin lacing. slight sweet malty aroma. medium body with a highly sweet top, yet mellow on the sides of the mouth. some nutty and caramel flavors linger in the finish... a bit too thin though on the finish. overall a very drinkable brown ale, but there are much better ones out there.

Beer of the month club beer. I was expecting a boring brown ale but was pleasantly surprised. I found it to be a nice drinkable beer. It pour a clear light orange with a white head and lacing. The nose is mild with hint of chocolate and toffee. Flavors of chocolate and malt. Nice and drinkable beer.
