May 28, 2006 12 oz bottle. Clear light brown color with thin off white head. Malt aromas of milk chocolate and molasses. Slightly sweet. Flavor is dominated by caramel with milk chocolate and a hint of molasses. Tasty brown.

Mar 24, 2008 Bottle, thanks Strykzone! This is a decent American brown ale. The head dissipated quickly but it did leave some lace. Aroma is malty and maybe hints of bread. Flavor is malty and smooth. A hint of sweetness and a nice balance of hops. Good beer.

Jun 10, 2002 Impressive beer from Left Hand, so far I have liked everything they have to offer. Sweet caramel aroma and nice malty/brown sugar flavor. I’ll definitely try this one again.

Aug 29, 2007 Bottle Mondial.
Aroma of brown sugar, malt and treacle, dark copper, tiny tan head. Soft taste of malt, some butterscotch notes and woody too. Light bodied, sweet, bitter and drinkable. Good.

May 6, 2002 An easy-to-quaff beer. Up front, can’t taste much behind the crisp carbonation. Sweet and roasty malts come out in the middle. A little “twangy” bitterness (Tettnanger?) in the finish; I yearned for more. Toffee sweetness builds over time. Overall, light, clean and fresh-tasting, albeit a little sweet; a good session beer.

Nov 9, 2006 Orange to copper color with nice tan head. Aroma is sweet caramel malts. Flavor is a little one dimensional with sweet caramel maltiness. There’s also some pale malts and a hint of maybe citrus hops.

Jul 4, 2006 A very dark brown ale with alot of character. Nuts have a performance all of their own in this one, as does caramel and bittersweet chocolate coming through as well. Like eating a piece of semi sweet chocolate for baking, but in beer of course. I like it, nice and creamy.
