Bottled on 04-23-07. Clear, dark brown-red with small head that tries to last. Mild aroma is sweet roasted walnut and sourish fruit. Flavor is also mild: some slightly sweet and nutty malt, faint sour cherries, and a drying earthy yeast. Palate is slightly watery, acidic-tingly, and has a chalky-dry finish. I guess it is in the UK style, but I favor the browns that have stepped outside of that tradition.

The only brown ale I have really liked. Pours a nice almost golden brown color, yeasty aroma. Flavor is maltier than most brown ales, a little sweet.

Pours a deep orange-brown with two fingers of frothy beige head that diminishes to a thin cap. The nose is of toasted, malty, dark caramel and bready notes. Light to medium-bodied and creamy-slick with a sweet, mildly burnt and astringent finish. Sweet dark caramel and bready malt transition to a lightly dry and toasty finish. A sweet and malty brew; it’s nothing particularly groundbreaking, but it’s a decent brown.

12 ounce bottle from Whole Foods in Winston-Salem, NC. Pours a slightly hazed orange bronze color with a medium head. Good head retention and lacing. Aroma is very nutty with some toffeeish notes. Taste is caramel, toffee, mild hops and slight coffee and toast. Medium bodied.

Pours a clear, medium brown with hints of red with a thin tan head. Aroma is nutty and roasty with some caramel malts. Tastes of caramel and roasted malts, vanilla, chocolate, toffee, and a bit nutty with a light hoppy finish. Not bad.

Releasing the cap with a lengthy pssst gives a surprisingly light almost reddish-brown color and a nice puffy cloud of light tan head. Sweet nose with a hint of hops. Body is nice and smooth with noticeable carbonation. Taste is caramel and bready malts with just enough hops to balance it out. Solid brown ale.

Bottle, thanks Strykzone! This is a decent American brown ale. The head dissipated quickly but it did leave some lace. Aroma is malty and maybe hints of bread. Flavor is malty and smooth. A hint of sweetness and a nice balance of hops. Good beer.

Bottle from Sun Devil. Pours like date juice with a trim off-white head. Smells and tastes predominantly of raspberry tea, brown sugar, hops, and faint cream. Fair, if not strange.
