Sep 23, 2003 I wanted some action out of this beer so I went with a straight pour into my English Samuel Smiths glass. Action is what I got. Deep Cover poured a fat fluffy off white head atop a deep amber colored body. This aroma is malty, nutty, caramel, pretty boring. The flavor is again toasty, nutty, caramel, some toffee, dull and mundane. This is a good beer, but not one that would stand out in a crowd, or.. Throng, th-Throng, Throng, Throng…….Let me see that Thron..on..on…g!

Jul 22, 2005 Draught. Pours mahagony with a rocky off-white head with many tiny fast-rising bubbles. Sweet maple and caramel malt aroma with a chocolate nose. Creamy sweet malt caramel and chocolate flavors. Creamy lacing. Light and somewhat watery thin bodied palate.

May 13, 2004 I really liked this brown ale, poured nicely with a cascading nutty aroma. I found this tasted much better than most other brown ales I have tried. Kind of bitter finish, can definately taste the hops. Good stuff.

May 28, 2006 12 oz bottle. Clear light brown color with thin off white head. Malt aromas of milk chocolate and molasses. Slightly sweet. Flavor is dominated by caramel with milk chocolate and a hint of molasses. Tasty brown.

Sep 6, 2006 Pours a nice reddish brown. Aromas of toasty malts, brown sugar, and nuts. Flavor is lightly sweet malts and a nice touch of hops, and a nutty finish.

Oct 23, 2006 Brown body with a very thin white head. Coffee, tea aroma with a tea and malt dominated taste. Semi-dry and smooth ending however.

May 20, 2009 Nice aroma of nuts, toffee, toasted malts. The color is a sort of red/chestnut brown, medium tan head. The flavor is nuts, toffee, caramel. It is thin, and a little watery. The finish is fairly hoppy, and lingers. Not terrible, but I expected more from this brewer.

Jan 16, 2009 12oz bottle. A decent brown ale. Aroma was dark malt, toffee and nuts. Pour was a dark brown with a one finger tan head. Taste was nice. Burnt and roasted malt, caramel and nuts with decent carbonation and a nice chewy aftertaste. There’s just a hint of coffee as the beer warms up. A lot of flavors here but nothing that jumps out. Seems a bit muddled.
